Last Ride...?

365 Group ustawaz (f)

For the last month or two I had been having my "usual" bad back trouble and a new wrinkle of being so very tired. I have been going back and forth to my Doctor trying to figure things out.

We did a lot of new testing and and the first round came back like always, birth defect and arthritis. On 4/1/10, I borrowed my friends gold wing for a bit of a softer ride and went back for round two of the testing. Doc said that he wanted to try these new tests as they were a little different. He said he was going to look at a broader range. I guess broad was a good word for it as it took in several more things than the ones before. I had a great ride down in fiftyish degree weather and actually felt pretty OK when I got there. Almost led me to believe a real soft tail might be the answer...almost.

More blood and so forth drawn and the usual "I'll call you."

I spent the night with my mom and had a good ride back up, even with killer cross winds. I have decided that a striped down gold wing is a ride to have. No bags no faring just bike.

On 4/5/10 the doc called saying he may have found the problem. (finally) I was all set to hear that the vertebrae had finally fused itself together. Instead he basically said that what the tests showed and the symptoms I had it was a good shot that I had Chronic Leukemia. He also said he was setting me up with an internal medicine specialist and an oncologist. Ya know, that wasn't really what I was expecting to hear. I mean the warm part of the riding season is just getting started. I have miles to put on! I made him repeat it all, twice. He did say that that was the worst case. That other things had the same symptoms and were indicated in the same way by the tests and not to go and do anything stupid till everything had been looked over. Since he's a real straight shooting kind of a doctor and my entire families doctor, I tend to believe him as he has always been extremely thorough in the past.

So as Mr. Harvey says..."Now you know the rest of the story".

4/20/10 is my appointments with the large gun type doctors and I'm planning on a ride down. Get a look at how the wind is going to blow in this thing and then hopefully a ride back?

Hope you all have a great riding season and that God rides with you. Maybe I'll catch ya on the road?

John, if we were all sailors...the thing to say here is
"Fair winds and following seas"

As bikers, perhaps the thing to say is: May you have winding roads, quiet and fair, and skies of blue with fluffy clouds.
